Shuqi Tang is an artist based in San Francisco, California.

Shuqi (Christy) Tang was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, grew up in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China, and Hong Kong SAR.

In 2024, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Art Practice and Economics degree at UC Berkeley. Tang has already been included in various exhibitions during her time at UC Berkeley, including "Wear in the World" at Bauer Wurster Hall and Anthropology and Art Practice Building in 2023 and the "(Im)Print" Exhibition at Worth Ryder Art Gallery in 2022. Tang's practice often explores themes like women's autonomy of their bodies and societal roles, the intricacies and fragility of human emotions, the idea of humans as social animals, and concerns for environmental degradation.

As an artist, she works mainly in sculpture and installations, but her repertoire also extends to ceramics, photography, video art, and UIUX design. She has a passion for incorporating performance elements into her work, creating space-specific, medium to large-sized works that utilize materials like plaster, wood, lights, and threads to engage and provoke thought among her audience.
